Understanding the Channel
We are now at the tail end of a really bad recession. At the same time, the enterprise communications market is experiencing a major paradigm shift due to a number of factors, including: network convergence and migration to IP telephony, application integration and adoption of UC technologies, virtualization, and the need for tighter coordination of IT and telecom investments within customer organizations.
The channel is going to play a key role in market evolution defining what technologies customer adopt and from which vendors and how they implement them. Channel partners, are, however, facing major challenges adapting to the new market and technology trends. I am looking to better understand some of these challenges, as well as the near-term objectives pursued by channel members. I have designed a survey, which I hope will serve as the basis for an upcoming market analysis.
