Jabber and AOL To Launch Soon

Looks like AOL is on the right track with this alliance with Jabber but does this mean they will convert their proprietary protocol to either SIMPLE or XMPP?

Hmm, probably not anytime soon but we do know that they are using SIP for their VoIP deployment so keep your fingers crossed.

Jabber, Inc. has recently signed an agreement with America Online, Inc. to offer federated instant messaging (IM) services between enterprise users of Jabber XCP and users of the extended AOL®.
